Social Justice Cohort
The Social Justice Cohort (SJC) at Johnsonburg is a program for high school students that are committed to learning about Social Justice and issues plaguing different communities. The SJC intends to provide a unique environment in which students can come together to explore issues of racial and social justice and creation-care, as a vision and practice within a life of faith. The participants will grow in faith and their thinking around themselves their communities, and their world will be greatly expanded through hands-on service and sharing what they have learned with others.
Participants in previous cohorts are welcome to attend through the time they graduate high school and may be given additional leadership opportunities.
We will be following pandemic protocols in line with the CDC, state and county health departments, and ACA during our times together.

Social justice is a lifestyle commitment. It requires dedication and sacrifice; but perhaps most importantly, it requires relationships. The Social Justice Cohort at Johnsonburg is designed to not only help you learn more about social justice and faith but also to create a network of relationships that can sustain you in the work of justice throughout your life. We ask our participants to be fully engaged online and to prioritize attending our in-person gatherings so that these kinds of supportive relationships can grow and flourish. Change starts with us, and so attendance is crucial.
