Johnsonburg is the kind of place where your child won't even miss their phone. They'll meet new friends and learn new things about themselves. They'll try out experiences that they definitely can't get at home. They'll meet camp counselors that they'll remember forever. This is a place like nowhere else - and we're one of the best summer camps in New Jersey.

What You Can Expect
Sending your child away from home to summer camp is a big deal. For 63 years, parents have been making summer for their kids extra amazing by sending them to Johnsonburg. Here's why:
Great Staff.
Our staff are carefully selected and intensively trained. They're college-aged role models that just love to be around kids. We make sure they know the latest on child and youth development, mental health care, and how to run activities safely and effectively. Some of them come from a totally different continent. Oh, and they're also very cool and extremely fun.
Our Program Rules.
We go hard on programming. To be honest, there's not really enough time in one week to do everything there is to do here. That's by design; we're never boring, especially since we add something new every single year. Lake toys, zip line, arial silks, gaga ball, pool basketball, disc golf, arts and crafts, climbing wall...sorry, we're running out of room.
We're Safe.
We're accredited by the American Camping Association, something only 20% of the camps in the entire country can say. This means we pass a rigorous visitation process, meeting over 300 standards that represent the best practices in the industry. This covers everything from fire extinguishers to the waterfront and even how we keep our data. We also have a great safety record, now 63 years strong.
Comfort & Care.
Our food is delicious with a boatload of options to win over even the pickiest of eaters. Our lodging is rustic by design, but well kept and comfy for the full summer camp experience. We have multiple medical personnel on site each week, as well as strong emotional health support. We are a great place for first time campers and kids afraid to leave home.

The Classic New Jersey Summer Camp Experience

We've been hosting memorable, fun, overnight summer camp programs in northwestern NJ for 64 years. Summer camp sessions are designed for campers to be engaged, challenged, educated, and kept safe throughout their week of fun games, silly songs, amazing moments, and unforgettable activities.
Our 2025 Summer Camp season features 6 1-week sessions that begin on Sunday and end on Friday. This is an overnight Christian camping program that is a lot of fun, and designed to provided faith building in a way that is accessible and meets campers where they are.
Our summer staff are faithful, Christian role models who truly love our summer camp program and working with kids. All summer staff are carefully screened, interviewed, background-checked, trained, and managed throughout the summer to enjoy the best possible summer camp experience.
When campers leave their summer camp session, they'll be tired...but they'll be all smiles, too. Our campers also leave feeling more confident in themselves, stronger in their faith and having learned spiritual practices, and with new friends, too. Our parents love that our summer camp program is screen free - and this disconnection from social media, video games, etc. helps kids truly refresh and renew.
