Classic Junior High Camp -In these events, junior highs have ample time to socialize and be who God created them to be. Encouraged to express opinions and feelings, campers also will partake of the full range of activities. Discussions about faith are a key part of the event as teens move toward adulthood. 6 Days, offered each week. 4 - Night Classic Junior High Camp -This 4-night (June 29 - July 3) event is just like regular classic junior high, just a shorter length to allow campers to be home to spend the 4th of July holiday weekend with family. 4 days, offered once. Guitar Camp -Come and jam with other youth your age. We’ll trade songs, styles, and learn some basic guitar skills. Some playing experience is recommended, but not necessary. You will need to bring your own acoustic guitar. 6 days, offered once. Delaware River Canoe Adventure! -A 50-mile journey on one of the most beautiful rivers on the East Coast--the Delaware. Our Adventure Coordinator will train you in river safety and canoe handling. Tuesday morning, embark on your 3½ day trip. You must pass an endurance-based swim check when you arrive. 6 Days, offered four times. MAD Camp (Music/Art/Drama) -For those with a creative side, we’ll explore music, art, J-burg Survivor -Unlike the show, you won’t be voted off the island, but if you’re up for physical and mental challenges, this is the unit for you. We’ll participate in activities designed to build teamwork and self-worth, and still have plenty of time for traditional camp activities. 6 days, offered twice. Horseback -For five days campers receive lessons each morning in riding and care of horses at a nearby stable. Indoor riding areas are available for rainy days. The remainder of the day, campers pursue other camp activities. 6 Days, offered once. Girl Power -This unit for girls will celebrate what it means to be a girl today. Campers will discuss body image, conflict resolution, forming and expressing opinions, and keys to sound relationships. We’ll laugh, sing, talk about girl stuff, and better understand how we are uniquely loved by God. 6 Days, offered once. J-burg Book Club -For those who love to read and talk about books. We’ll choose a book (based on reservations) for campers to read before coming to camp. Once here, we’ll talk about the book, have time to read other materials (bring your favorites!), and still have time to participate in favorite camp activities. 6 days, offered once. All-Terrain Bike Camp -Each day your group rides different terrain for varying distances -- trail rides over the back hills of Johnsonburg, local country roads, and an overnight at Jenny Jump State Forest. Must be in good physical condition and able to ride 25 miles. Begin with short day trips and gradually increase the distance. Bring a mountain bike in good condition and a helmet. Call if unsure. 6 Days, offered once. Lights, Camera, Action -Calling all aspiring actors, camera-people, and media-minded Junior Highs. You’ll be amazed at how much work goes into making a short video movie. Hands-on experience with all aspects of video making including editing. At the end of the two weeks, watch your movie with a camp audience. 13 Days, offered once.
