Retreats & Events

Camp Johnsonburg leads a series of programmed reteats and events every year. You provide the youth and chaperones, we provide the program, leadership, and music! Many youth leaders love knowing they can take their kids away for a retreat experience without having to do all of the planning. Johnsonburg retreats are also an excellent opportunity for your youth to connect with youth from other areas. In addition to the program, each retreat also includes seasonally appropriate opportunities to participate in various camp activities like the zipline, boating, and many more. Confirmation Retreat #1 Register

March 2-4, 2012 for Junior/Senior Highs Cost $99.00 per person

Each of us belongs to many different groups: families, schools, and countries. Joining the church is one of the first commitments adolescents make on their own. At this retreat confirmands will look at what it means to be a member of a church – the responsibilities and the rewards. In past events, participants have spoken well of the opportunity to meet with confirmands from other congregations and to witness the variety of ways people answer the confirmation questions. 8 p.m. Friday to Noon Sunday; $99/person.


Resurrecting Hope: A Lenten Retreat Day Register

March 2, 2012 for Adults: Clergy & Laity Cost $35.00 per person

As the church calendar turns once again to the season of Lent you are invited to retreat for a time of reflection, prayer, preparation, exploration, and even celebration. Filled with worship, Bible study, fellowship and more, this day is designed to nurture your heart, mind, and soul as we embark on our Lenten walk to Easter.  

We hope you will join us as together we journey with the One who has the power of resurrecting hope even from the midst of a pile of ashes. 

The program is offered by the Spiritual Sanctuary Committee of Johnsonburg Presbyterian Center.

Cost for the day includes morning refreshments, lunch, and program

Extend your stay by arriving Thursday night for an additional cost of $30 (Please call ahead to reserve a room and plan to bring your own meals to prepare in your lodge)

Lynn Santulli is a candidate for Minister of Word and Sacrament in PC (USA), receiving her Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School, completed her clinical pastoral education at St. Luke's Medical Center in Bethlehem, PA, and has completed post-graduate work at Princeton Theological Seminary. She served as an Associate Minister of Congregational Care at the Presbyterian Church at Pluckemin for a number of years where she has led and organized numerous retreats and worship events. She is an ordained elder and deacon in the PC (USA).

A Sabbath Rest for the Caring Soul: A Day for Caregivers Register

The numbers of those called into caring for others is increasing.  Parents and family members in need of care are supported by families and friends who give of themselves to help their loved ones.  It can be a great blessing, but it can also lead to burnout and other emotions as well.  Although they are a growing segment of the population, many caregivers feel isolated, left alone in their struggles to balance the many areas of their lives. 

You are invited to join us for a special Sabbath time set aside for all caregivers---those who care for others professionally, those who care for family members and friends, those about to enter the experience, those living the realities each day, and those who support those offering care.  We hope you will join us for this time of rest which is designed with you in mind.  Jesus took time away from His ministry to be in prayer, and to spend time alone in God's natural world of beauty.  We hope you will take this time as well so that you might be filled and nurtured in your calling to care.

Our day will begin at 1:00 with light refreshments and will include a program of large and small group time, personal reflection time, yoga and meditation.  We will share dinner before concluding our day at 7:00.

Spruce Up Jburg Day

Here's an opportunity to lend us a hand with some of our spring projects and spend a day at camp.  Summer is just around the corner and there is much to be done to get ready for summer camp.  One of the things that helps us here at Johnsonburg is the assistance of our ever willing volunteers, and we need you again this year.  We have lots of projects that need to be done including painting, repairs, and setting up tents.  We welcome individuals, church groups, and families, but please be aware that we ask you to provide supervision for any children.   We'll begin at 9 am and be done by 4 pm.  Lunch is provided.

Start your year off on a great note by brining your youth group, confirmation class, or any other group of youth to camp for this one night team-building event.  Our Johnsonburg staff will help the members of your group get to know each other better, learn to work together, and have fun!  The retreat starts Friday evening and ends Saturday at 4 pm.  Price includes lodging, 2 meals, and program.
