New Email System Information
As many of you now know, this summer we have switched to a new way to email your campers. As with most new products and procedures, there have been some glitches that have caused confusion and frustration for many. Please know that we're working hard to remedy this.
First of all, let me assure you that it is a priority for us to enable all family and friends to email campers for free, and this system will continue to allow us to do that. There was a glitch in the registration process that didn't allow anyone other than parents to register for the free basic service, but that has since been corrected.
There was also an option to purchase additional "credits" and the default setting in the drop down menu was to purchase 10 credits for $10.00, making it seem like everyone had to spend at least $10.00 at the start of this process. This has now been changed so the default setting is "none" for additional credits. We believe this will help take some of the frustration out of the registration process.
So you all know, the reason for this change was to help us make the email procedure more efficient and to allow us to be better stewards of resources. In the past, many people were sending pictures and other attachments in their camper emails that we weren't able to process. Due to computer code issues, this often caused us to waste hundreds of sheets of paper per day. In addition, this new service will allow those who wish to spruce up their emails with pictures, borders, puzzles, etc.
