Summer Camp Registration Now Open for 2010
It may be cold outside, but here at Camp Johnsonburg we're thinking about summer! Our schedule is set, the brochures have been mailed, and we are currently taking registrations for our 2010 summer camping program. At this time, you can register via mail, phone, or fax. Register now to secure your spot in your first choice of units! Online registration will be available soon!
Many familiar events return for this summer like elementary village, girl power, Delaware river canoe trips, ropes and rocks, LTP, senior high hangout, and others. No matther what the event, though, our focus, as always, is on accepting and valuing each camper for who they are and providing them a fun and safe place to learn about themselves, their faith, and their God.
This summer we have some exciting new unit offerings:
Crafty Campers II - This unit was so popular last year we decided to add one for juniors as well. Come explore your creative side as you'll spend extra time doing arts and crafts, but still have plenty of time for favorite camp activities.
Specialty Sampler - Can’t decide which of the specialty units to do? No worries, this unit will make the choice for you. We’ll spend one day each doing activities from these favorite specialty units: waterworld, extreme camp, archery skills, cookout camp, and sports zone.
Paddlers - For those with a sense of adventure! We’ll spend most of the week at camp, but spend one day canoeing the beautiful Delaware River. We’ll put in at Bushkill Falls and get picked up at Delaware Water Gap. No experience necessary as we’ll go over canoeing basics here at camp before leaving for our day on the river. One event for junior highs and one for senior highs.
Click! - This unit is for anyone interested in digital photography. With camp as your backdrop, you’ll learn how to compose, take, and edit photos, as well as learn what all those settings on your camera mean!
Geocaching - Calling all treasure seekers! This unit takes an old school activity – orienteering – and gives it a new twist. We’ll use handheld GPS (bring your own, or use ours) to find different caches around the site. We’ll even hide a few for other people to find. There will still be time for traditional camp favorites like boating and swimming.
Tubing - Spend most of the week at camp making friends and doing your favorite camp activities, then head off site for a great day of sun and tubing on the Delaware River.
All of our units participate in daily Bible study, swimming, boating, archery, and all the other favorite camp activities. We expect many of these units to fill up fast, so register soon to make sure you reserve a space in the unit of your choice. Right now you can register by mailing or faxing in a completed registration form, or by phone. Please note, phone registrations require payment in full at the time of registrations.
To help families with multiple children attending camp (or one child attending multiple events) we are once again offering a $25 reduction in the cost of camp for each additional registration after the first. For example, if a family sends two children to camp, the first will be billed at full cost and the second will be given a $25 discount. Please call if you have any questions!
If you would like a copy of our camp brochure mailed to you, or if you have any other questions, please contact us by calling 908-852-2349 or email at info@campjburg.org.
We look forward to seeing you this summer!
